Commercial Designs
Every commercial building
is an advertisement for the owner. In cases in which clients
come to visit the owner, the building sets the entire stage
for the client's experience. The procession of seeing a building,
approaching it, entering it and being greeted and receiving
services within it are based upon the building design. This
is true of both single tenant and multi-tenant buildings.
For example, with multi-tenant buildings, the procession is
important in determining the amount of rent that can be charged.
My approach to commercial building design is to match the
procession through the site to a simple, crisp and efficient
building.
